E-commerce Development

Build the shopping experience and the workflows behind an order.

An e-commerce project includes more than a storefront. Products must be maintained, options understood and orders handled by the business. ZYAM develops catalogue-led websites and custom commerce workflows, with the release scope defined before live selling begins.

Plan for customers and the team fulfilling orders

This service suits retailers and product businesses that need a catalogue, online purchasing or better-connected administration. We clarify product structure, how prices and availability are maintained, and who handles an order. A catalogue or enquiry-led site can be a useful first phase when payment and fulfilment decisions are not yet ready.

Scope

What ZYAM builds

Product catalogues

Product and category pages, variants, search and filtering, with a manageable structure for descriptions and imagery.

Responsive shopping journeys

Browsing, cart and checkout interfaces designed for smaller screens, with clear form labels, validation and error recovery.

Payments and integrations

Payment-provider integration can be scoped alongside delivery and other systems. Provider access, test transactions and release approval are separate from writing the integration.

Order and content administration

Tools for catalogue maintenance and order review, with agreed permissions and status transitions. Live stock reservation is included only when explicitly designed and tested.

How we approach the work

  1. Map the catalogue, purchasing journey and responsibilities for stock, fulfilment and customer communication.
  2. Implement and test the agreed storefront and administration workflow with sample orders.
  3. Verify payment and other release dependencies before an approved commercial launch.

Questions about e-commerce development

Can we launch a catalogue before online payments?

Yes. Catalogue browsing and enquiries can be scoped separately from checkout, payments and fulfilment. The public site should clearly communicate which actions are available.

Is payment integration proof that a store is live?

No. Implementation, provider approval, testing and production release are distinct steps. We do not describe development-only functionality as active commerce.
